Deep thinking

I just read a great blog post by Rob over at businesspundit.com.  Everything he said holds true for me.  Take 3 minutes and read his article.

Killing people with kindness

I was out today in Vermont just doing some random stuff and the guy in front of me at the checkout line was being a complete ass to the cashier and for no good reason.  She was working as quick as possible but he was still mumbling under his breath one thing or another.  It was obvious that the cashier could hear him but she continued to say thank you, would you like a coupon for that, let me put that in a plastic bag so the sweat from the ice cream doesn’t put a hole in your paper bag, etc.

The guy didn’t know what to do with himself.  By the end of the checkout process, he was speechless.  Somewhat dumb founded.  I loved it.  I was pleasant with her, small talk and she smiled back.  I laughed a little and told her that she totally killed the previous guy with kindness.  She agreed, and it works on 99% of people.

Just an interesting tidbit from today.

Father’s day!

Spent some time with the big guy yesterday.  It was really hot here in Montreal, so we didn’t feel like sitting on a terrace somewhere sweating.  So I went out to grab some sushi (we’re big fans).  So we just sat back and munched some delicious sushi.  Loved it.

Congrats to the Ducks!

Ottawa got beat tonight and the Stanley Cup goes to the Ducks this year.  Both teams battled hard and both deserved it.  Ducks just had the energy to plow through the final round.

So, next it is for the Montreal Canadiens  :)

Ottawa got killed tonight

Senators got killed today on home ice.  Just a brutal game.  They owned the first period and then everything fell apart.  They’re now behind 3 games to 1.  Not looking good for them heading back to Ducks territory.
