Om Malik has a good post up about Dell’s new ambitions to backup your data and help you migrate from one machine to another. Obviously there are security and privacy concerns, let alone the bandwidth required to move GBs of data. But, if you’re lucky enough to be on an ethernet connection or Verizon’s FIOS, you’ll probably be alright–just encrypt your data ;)
